EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Leading haed phone manufacturer had a poor feedback situation, wherein there were reported voice quality issues from customers in some of the products from many batches. They need a solution to identify the problem and ensure routine testing to each device to test critical parameters of every product and few parameters of Batch testing to ensure quality of the product.

This was leading to bad feedback and loss of revenue as well as adversely affecting the brand image. There was an urgent need to device a system that identified the sound quality of products using FFT. ( Fast Fourier Transform )

CHALLENGE ASSESSMENT

Understanding the nature of sound frequency spectrum analysis and incorporating a model of the expected results was a challenge. FFT analysis to their exacting standards was indeed something that tweaked the interest of our inhouse design team and revealed a layer of possibilities that we had not previously dabbled in.

It was required to develop an algorithm to connect automatically on Bluetooth and the start testing procedures and remove the device after testing to connect other devices and sequence the tests for other units.

IMPACT STATEMENT

Ceryletech is glad to have implemented a LabVIEW based solution, where we have developed specific .net Libraries to connect with the device, pair and the disconnect.

Solution

cDAQ and LabVIEW based solution was developed for BOAT. The final solution featured testing of unto eight (8) headphones at a time in an aquatic chamber. Identification of the devices based on their name, Pair, Connect, test and then Disconnect. This entire sequence was automated and integrated within their custom enviornment. Based on FFT analysing of signal CeryleTech produced results of each y module. Both Speaker and microphone were tested on the headphone units.
